Adopt A Platoon (AAP)
The AdoptaPlatoon Soldier Support Effort is a nonprofit 501C-3 organization managed nationwide by volunteer mothers to ensure that deployed US Service Members in all branches of the military are not forgotten and to promote patriotism in our schools and communities. To provide a better deployment quality of life, lift morale, and assist military families, the AAP created projects that meet the need of military requests, established special projects for holidays, and assigns individual morale lifting mail support to deployed Service Members of all branches of the U.S. military serving their Nation around the world.

Operation AC
This organization has done a wonderful job in supporting our troops overseas. Take a look at this site, and see what one family is doing to help our troops stay a little cooler in the summer and little warmer in the winter. They also have an "adopt a soldier" program.

Operation Uplink
This is a unique program that keeps military personnel and hospitalized veterans in touch with their families and loved ones by providing them with free phone cards.

Operation USO Care Package
The USO is sending care packages that include requested items such as pre-paid worldwide phone cards, sunscreen, travel size toiletries, and messages from Americans who want to thank them for their service.

Operation Gratitude
Operation Gratitude, together with the California Army National Guard in Van Nuys, seek to lift troops' morale, and bring a smile to their faces by sending care packages to service members overseas.

Operation Dear Abby
Send a thank you to a service member via email here.

Operation Soldier Support
OSS locates military personnel and gets their permission to allow our members to send them letters, cards and packages. Once you have filled out the Members Application and returned it to us you will receive your starters kit to help you get started supporting our men and women.

Operation Interdependence
A Civilian-to-Military Delivery System. Their mission is a well organized distribution system of care packages and support items.

4TheTroops
Great site as a tribute. Lots of pictures and slideshows and letters written by soldiers. This group enables you to adopt a troop(s) (security is in place) to support with care packages. Also, you can make money donations to help offset their cost of the care packages they send. Lots of ongoing projects to help out with.

Treats for Troops
Their mission: "we want to put at least one package from home into the hands of every American on active military duty anywhere in the world. We're the one-click solution to sending care packages to soldiers." They have done a fantastic job towards that end. They also have a "Foster a Soldier" program.

Spirit of America
This organizations perates on the premise that the success of those serving America abroad depends, in part, on their ability to tangibly demonstrate American goodwill. To get a better idea about this organization read the story that inspired their efforts.

Email our Military
Their missions is to provide encouragement, motivation and moral support to our Military Service Members directly and primarily through email.

Disabled American Veterans
Let's not forget the veterans who have faught for our freedom in previous wars. This organization has been around for a long time; it's a nonprofit organization of more than one million veterans.

American Valor
This is an awesome site developed and supported by PBS and other organizations. Click on the Stories of Valor and read how these brave Americans served their country with courage and honor above and beyond the call of duty

Veterans History Project
There are 19 million war veterans living in the United States today, but every day we lose 1,700 of them. Motivated by a desire to honor our nation's war veterans for their service and to collect their stories and experiences while they are still among us, the United States Congress created the Veterans History Project.

Home of Heroes
This is an awesome site with a wealth of historical military information. "The nation's leading Web site for information about patriotism, the Medal of Honor and military history." The Pueblo Chieftain - July 28, 2000
