Dear President Bush

My name is Nyla Fernandez, mother of CPL. KYLE K. FERNANDEZ of Pearl City, HI.,whose young life was recently taken in war,in Miam Do,Afghanistan. My son was killed on Oct, 14 ‘04 when the humvee he was driving,(while on convoy),ran over a landmine which killed him and his passanger,SGT.BRIAN HOBBS of Mesa, Az.

The loss of my son is so very devastating,my pain is so great that it is unbearable at times. I don’t think anyone will ever know what kind of pain a parent has to go thru’ when they lose a child, especially this way,he was so healthy, vibrant,a young man of 26 with a young family, he had his whole life ahead of him,so many plans, all he wanted to do was to finish his tour and come home to his family,he was suppose to come home on Dec. 7th to spend Christmas with the family (R & R) he never made it home to us. I have a younger son ,he just enlisted in the Army,he said this was something he had to do,worrying about my children will never end for me....

I too am a Christian who loves Jehovah God and has great faith in his word,I believe war is not something that God wants for us,but because of all the evilness in this world things are, as they are!

My son was a person that loved his country and believed in what he was doing,he believed that he could make a difference, he was doing this for all of us,not just his family, for us all,You never knew my son,but KYLE was a special person, he too believed in and loved God............He would call us and tell us of the children of Afghanistan,of how they lived and that they had nothing, that they ran around in dirty clothes, with no shoes on their feet,it moved him so much that whenever he came across these children he would give them his water and snacks,he said it made him feel better to see them smile, even if it was temporary, and that his own children were very fortunate to live in the United States.,it really made him realize that we live in a great country and that we should not take for granted all the priviledges we have here in America. Yes, he really did alot of growing up while being there.

My prayer is that all Americans recognize all our Fallen Soldiers, for the sacrifice they have made for their country and for all of us who call ourselves Americans! We all have the priviledge of living in freedom because of these brave young men and women,we should all give them and their families a great big "Thank You." For they truly made the ultimate sacrifice. All these men and women put their worries and concerns on the side for one year (or more) to defend their country which they love ,these young soldiers put their lives on hold for all of us!! And sadly some of them never make it back home. It is because of what these brave soldiers have done and are still doing, we live as we do! FREE!!!!!!!!!!

Jo. 15:13 NO GREATER LOVE THAN THIS,THAT ONE WOULD LAY DOWN HIS OWN LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS.

Sincerely,

Nyla Fernandez mother of CPL.KYLE K. FERNANDEZ of Pearl City,HI.
