Army CWO William I. Brennan

His sister, Briana Wall, writes:

William touched many lives throughout his short 36 years. His smile would light up a room and his laughter can still be heard. Like so many of his comrads, Will had a strong conviction for fighting for freedom and believed everyone deserved the same chance. Everyone was equal in his eyes and he would never give a second thought to stand up for someone or something he believed in. Never mouthy but always had a lot to say.

Always joking around, but never at someone elses' expense. Always there to give a helping hand but never asking for a hand out.

William's loss has broken many hearts. I myself find it very hard to accept. Iwill never understand how so wonderful a person, who had so much more to offer the world, could be gone. Many people will never get to meet their best friend, a person who could start a conversation with a total stranger and leave you feeling like he had been your best friend for years.

To William: May you soar with the angels, in peace. Your passing has left me feeling empty, but your memory keeps my life fulfilled. Thank you for being you.

Your sister, Annie

"Low Flight"

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth,

And Hovered out of Ground Effect on Semi-Ridgid Blades.

Earthward I've Auto'ed, and met the Rising Brush of Non-Paved Terrain;

And done a thousand things you would never care do.

Skidded and Dropped and Flared Low in the Heat Soaked Roar.

Confined there, I've chased the Earthbound Traffic.

And Lost the race due to Insignificant Headwinds.

Forward and up a Little in Ground Effect,

I've Topped the Admirals hedge with drooping turns,

Where never SkyHawk nor even Tomcat flew.

Shaking and Pulling Collective, I've Lumberd

The Low untresspassed Halls of Victor Airways;

Put out my Hand, and Touched a Tree.

Today William you Fly with the Angels.

Dedicated to
William I. Brennan
